There are several buyer turn-offs that sellers should avoid when they put their home on the market. We see these things often when showing properties to buyers. If you want a quick sale for top dollar, follow these tips:
Avoid odors. Eliminate any odors related to pets, smoking, or otherwise. Smells are one of the first impressions a buyer will get, and leaving detectable odors could turn them off from buying your home.
Less is best, so put away your personal possessions.
Declutter the property. If a buyer sees your personalized photos or can’t visualize their own furniture in the home because you have so many of your own possession in the home, then it might turn them off. Less is best, so put away your personal possessions.
Take care of patches and stains, particularly in the ceilings or walls. If buyers see these things, they automatically assume that there could be underlying things that haven’t been disclosed or still need to be repaired.
